FAQs

How long does it take to earn a Black Rank?  It's depends on how much effort you put into learning. Students have earned their Black Rank in a year while others have taken much longer.

How hard is it to learn the curriculum?  It's gets more difficult as one advances, and it should be considered a reasonable challenge. But people of all genders, ages and levels of martial arts experience, as well as people who have no martial arts experience, have achieved high ranking in the Goju-Shorei Weapons System.

What other weapons does the Goju-Shorei Weapons System teach?  While the cane is the foundation weapon we also teach the knife and the fan at the higher Black Ranks.

Does the System just teach weapons?  No. The highest regarded curriculum is the 4th Black Rank which teaches Japanese Restoration Massage (Seifukujutsu).
