THE GATHERING 1999
"This is the 14th year in a row that
'The Gathering' has taken place. 'The Gathering' is something that was
established for the purpose of bringing people together from all walks of
life pertaining to the martial arts. Also, to educate the populace and to
re-establish in their minds that we want ourselves to be perceived as
martial artists. An artist is one that has respect for art and respect for
roots and the basics of art. A good artist possesses what they call heart or 'Shin' in
Japanese, this is the reason for the 'The Gathering'. We all
come together with the same heart towards growth, unity and appreciation
for one another and the arts they represent.
